Excellent pre shave gel

Just finished my first shave using this product and I found it to be excellent. A little goes a long way and it really helps to give a very smooth shave

TOBS Herbal Pre-Shave Gel - Surprisingly Slick!

Shave Nation taught me (and I have subsequently experienced) that using a pre-shave is essential to a great shave. I like using products that are formulated to pair with each other. With no pre-shave available specifically for the TOBS Royal Forest Shave Cream and RF After Shave Cream I am using, I asked TOBS for their recommendation - TOBS Herbal Pre-Shave Gel - and purchased it from (where else?) Shave Nation.

The price tag certainly gets one's attention! But considering that just a small dab on a fingerTIP on each side of your dampened face will cover the entire shave area, this product should last a long time; just use less to start with and work it in evenly!

It's super slick and protective and once applied, you realize you just did something very good for your face! The protection lasted throughout the shave and the light, herbal scent did not compete with the Royal Forest Shave Cream's superb fragrance at all.

Several passes over a 3-day beard with my Merkur 34c HD razor loaded with a Nacet blade (already used 4 times previously) produced ZERO stinging when the alum block was applied! Of course, YMMV, but this shave exceeded all expectations.

TOBS Herbal Pre-Shave Gel paired with the Royal Forest product line makes for a very rewarding shaving experience. My advice: Don't go into the "Forest" without it!

Recommended for sensitive skin

Easy to apply and scent is decent; does appear to reduce irritation a bit compared with just using shaving cream alone. However, it has a tendency to increase clogging of the razor; especially apparent when used with Henson AL13. Didn't seem to be as much of an issue for the Mühle R89, but still noticeable.
