The only difference between the Henson AL13 and the Henson AL13 Medium is the blade gap and blade exposure. These measurements control the "aggressiveness" of the shave.

For finer hair and shaving areas other than the face, a milder razor is generally desired. Go for the AL13. For coarser hair, the aggression of the AL13-Medium razor may be more suitable. For even heavier beard growth go for the new Aggressive Version of this razor.

++ Definitely Different Cut from +

I bought this to see if there was a noticeable difference between the medium and the mild and there definitely was a difference. The medium exposed more of the blade edge than the mild and required fewer passes fo a close shave, but I did notice more nicks with the medium and none with the mild. I like the more exposed blade but it will take a little getting used to.

Great razor

I have all three levels of aggression and really like them all, but with different blades. I am still trying a variety of blades, bit so far I like the ASCO blade in the mild razor and the RK for the medium. Not sure about the aggressive yet, but the RK works well for me here as well

Great razors to get you into the Wet Shaving rabbit hole.

I already had the medium (++) and it's great for a daily driver, the Aggressive (+++) I use for a 3-day shave, I don't see any need to get the mild as I have several razors that fit the bill. These implements are excellent, nicely constructed and you can't go wrong in purchasing one or several.

My Hensons are the best razors I own.

I own the medium version of this razor and it's my daily driver. It's a great razor, one of the best I've ever owned (the other one is the aggressive titanium version of this razor). Both have made the rest of my collection display models. Henson just nailed the design. Too bad they weren't around fifty years ago.
