*Just introduced in October of 2022* Parker's PTABK Stainless Steel Adjustable barber razor comes with three inserts - each with a different blade exposure so you can customize your shave. You can choose an insert with low, medium or high blade exposure, depending upon your specific task, skill level, skin type or beard growth. It's like having three different razors in one!

Parker's Shavette Razors are used in barbershops and shave parlors worldwide. This razor has an "insert" which you load the blade into. You then slide the insert back into the blade arm with the blade. Unlike most shavettes, our razor has a stainless steel blade arm and handle with an elegant black finish - not lower quality aluminum. Just pick your favorite double edge blade, snap it in half, insert it in the razor and you're off -- No sharpening or honing required!

#1 Insert: Low Blade Exposure: Useful for light beard growth or bulk shave jobs, hot towel shaves, etc. where a lower, more stable blade exposure is needed
#2 Insert: Medium Blade Exposure: Most all-around usage with moderate blade exposure for many different shaving tasks
#3 Insert: High Blade Exposure: Useful for more detailed work and shapeups where more visible blade exposure is required

  • Razor Type: Adjustable Push type barber/shavette razor - takes half of a double edge blade
  • Weight: 1.7 oz
  • Length: 5.5 in.
  • Handle Material: Stainless Steel with Black Finish
  • Razor Arm: Stainless Steel with Black Finish

Check that blade reveal is even, adjust if needed.
*Do not contact sharp edge of blade when loading or unloading*

NEW: This Parker Shavette Razor includes ONE each of the following half-blades:

  • Derby
  • Lord
  • Parker
  • Perma Sharp
  • Shark
  • Sharp
  • 7AM Plus

This enables you to Test-Shave different blades to see which suit you best!

Apart from the blade alignment issues while in the holders, it still shaves phenomenally like my carbon-steel straights, but with the upside of hot-swappable blades that you can just rinse under the sink. Downside (for me personally) is... Also the hot-swappable blades. They need to be snapped in half, and that makes it unusable back in a DE safety razor should I switch back-and-forth to reduce wasting blades (even if they're already technically dirt-cheap and I shouldn't need to, but it's a force-of-habit), though the form factor makes up much for it as shavettes made for unmodified DE blades don't look as good, nor as ergonomic to use.

The shavette is good to learn the downside it’s very light.
It would work best with very light beard.
As thick and stiff my beard I wouldn’t recommend it.
It is reasonable priced also
If you really want to get a close shave use feather blades double edge broken in half .
I find those work best for me.

It’s a good razor

Only small problem is when you put in the insert it doesn’t stay put in all .
It’s a good razor a little on the light side as for weight goes

Easy handling, good for a fun shave!

I've used a Razorine off and on (the early edition with the skinny handle) and found it hard to control sometimes. I thought this razor was easier to control because of the more traditional straight razor style handle. It's very light and comfortable to hold. The feel of the blade is similar to a Muhle R41, in my opinion. Overall, it's a good razor and you can choose which blades you want to use.
