You'll wonder how you lived without it!!!

Both my father and I started the wet shaving journey 15 or so years ago. My journey was new, his was a return to prior comforts. While I've gotten into straights a dozen years ago and am always questing new stuff, my father has stuck with DE's and hasn't deviated from what he likes - namely tubed Proraso, Omega brush, and Astra blades in an old Schick Krona TTO razor. He generally relies on my orders to restock. I purchased the ShaveNation unbreakable lined artisan bowl recently. Amazed by it, I gave it to my Dad to try out when he requested more Proraso. I felt if he liked it, I'd buy him one as a future gift. It has become a favorite possession of his and topic of convo. He frequently shower shaves and recounts how it was dropped and can't break. I decided to let him keep the lined bowl, I bought myself the bumpy bowl as my replacement. Having used both, I lean towards the bumpy bowl for its speed at creating lather. The lined bowl has a little more lather capacity. Both are 5 stars, and it's your toss-up which to get. These bowls will simply make any soap or cream perform. The metal also holds heat and keeps the lather warm. I frequently whip up some lather for my partner when she needs to shave her legs. I recommend this to female shavers as well. Really like ShaveNation as a source of new and unique product but really like how they have developed a home grown product here that really enhances the wet shaving experience. Not sure myself or my father can go without these bowls now.

Pretty good

Love the handle and the bumps. The bowl needs more cup size so most of the lather doesn't come out on the rim. Otherwise I really like it.

Excellent Bowl for lather making

I have been a wet shaver for over 60 years and back in the day my shave soap choice was the ubiquitous canned lather and a Gillette twist open razor. I never gave a thought on how to really shave!
Time flew on and I became older and wiser. I have since accumulated and use many types or razors with slant razors being my favorite and now using modern tech DE blades. The shave soaps now are well formulated and scented with lanolin and tallow bases for ease of lubricating the skin. I learned a lot in these years and use many shaving bowls and scuttles and do have many “bumpy bowl” types that do a great job in developing a good airy shave lather. This Shave Nation bowl with the over sized raised internal bumps does a better job in this respect in both mixing and aerating your developing lather. The palm grip style base opposed to others which have a ring type handle that is prone to slipping in a wet hand is very accommodating as well. The added feature of this Shave Nation non-destructible bowl is that it will not break if an accident should occur. I highly recommend this bowl with wide opening and working area for any shave enthusiasts.
