To use:

Remove handle by unscrewing to the left
separate top cap from safety bar
Carefully load the blade between top cap and safety bar
Reinstall the handle-turn to the right to secure the blade in place
Soak the brush in water and give it a few good shakes
Swirl the brush in the shaving soap-load up the tips with lather
Apply lather to warm wet face with brush

Great starter set

Spare for the grandsons and for travel!

My order came in so quickly that it felt like @geofatboy was watching for it! When I found out that my grandsons were coming for a visit, I needed to get a spare razor, since they like to pretend-shave with me. Thanks to quick response, I have the extra razor in time for their visit!
I shaved with the budget shaving set today just to check it out, and I got a flawless BBS result! It will also be good as a backup or travel set. The razor is shorter and lighter than my other one, so this will be a nice piece to add to the arsenal.
It was also nice to be able to try the Colonel Conk soap, after reading about it so much. I think it will be on my future shopping list.

I'm fully converted to using a safety razor. No more cartridges for me!

I love using the kit. The shaving puck forms a nice lather when whipped with the brush, giving the razor a smooth slide. Using a safety razor took some getting used to, however, its been the best decision ever to switch over. I plan on getting more familiar and then exploring what else is out there. I would recommend this kit to anyone, you really will not find a better deal out there. This kit gives you everything you need to begin. 10/10 would recommend this set to anyone who is on the fence. you will not be disappointed.

The shaving bowl adds to the experience

I purchased a shave nation ceramic shaving bowl and an alumn stick. The shaving bowl makes it much easier to get a consistent lather from the soap. If you are going to take up wet shaving with a safety razor I highly recommend using a shave bowl. Of course geofatboy’s videos are a must as well. The Alumn stick is fine it works as advertised and helps with nicks.
