I was periodically using a Schick injector that was either my late Mothers or Grandfathers. It recently broke and I wasn’t holding a supply of injector blades. I do like SE razors very much, and the choice was wide open for a replacement. I like the smaller head of an SE, and find they do better than a DE for me on certain portions of the neck and under nose shaving (when I don’t have a mustache). I also feel they do better for me when I only have 24 hrs of growth. I had considered the Parker adjustable injector, but went with the Leaf Thorn basically out of interest in trying it because it’s newer, and because I have an abundance of DE blades vs no leftover injector blades. Plus, the Leaf is beautiful in the prismatic finish. Performance wise, the Leaf is very similar to the old Schick injector I was using in dimensions and expected result. I chose the Thorn as the gray whiskers I have are noticeably wirier. This razor has more noticeable weight distribution in the handle. One must add some pressure to the head and use short strokes for best results. Another recommendation is to rinse the head well. The mechanism that holds the blade is quite secure, Overall, it’s a very competent and damn good looking razor. The greater weight distribution in the handle hasn’t initially given me the greatest sense of control or confidence while using it but I am quite pleased with the end result. When not using a straight, I am more likely to chose this over one of my DE’s. Your mileage may vary.
