Shave Nation Step-Up Closed Comb Safety Razor

I thought my new Leaf razors were my everyday shavers but noooo. GEOFATBOY gets back from vacation and reviews the Shave Nation Step-Up Closed Comb Safety razor and I'm hooked. Everything about it is great. The size, weight and perfect shave . Baby smooth shave after 2 passes and touch ups. I love the knurling. Thanks alot George (Grrr)! Now, if only they came in gold tone, not, I didn't mean it.

Good Shave, difficult to change blades

The razor itself looks great and is easy to hold/handle. The only issue is, similar to another review on here, the threads seem to be somewhat stripped or not aligned correctly. When I removed from the packaging and tried to disassemble, I initially thought it was broken. It took a lot of effort to unscrew the handle, and was afraid I was going to break something. After putting in a blade and screwing the handle back in, same sort of problem...was very difficult to tighten all the way and I was afraid I might actually cut myself since I had to put so much pressure into screwing it down all the way. My solution was to use a small amount of WD-40. Seems to have made it better. But I'm afraid after some usage, the lubrication will wash away and I'll be forced to periodically apply more WD-40. This is annoying. It shaves well, but I will likely not use often as it is very time consuming and inconvenient to assemble and disassemble.

Great Razor, Unhappy with quality

The black finish on the razor is great, and I love the weight. The different grooves for the fingers are a great touch that I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did. It's not overly aggressive and not too mild either. Happy middle ground. My only complaint, and the only reason it wasn't 5 stars, is that the threads for the head were half stripped when I got it. It looked like it had been cross threaded for a few turns, and then screwed in correctly. As a result, it's one of my favorite razors to use, but it's a total pain to change blades so I don't use it too often. I never asked for a return/refund though so that's on me. Great razor, 5 stars for the actual usage. Disappointed that the threads were stripped though. Would recommend.

Great yet aggressive razor. Subpar apckaging.

The performance, fit and finish are great. Maybe a bit to aggressive for my taste (skin).
The only real criticism concerns the packaging. It's okay if you buy the razor for yourself but not suitable as a gift. ...the box looked like it'd contain a $5 product rather than a ~$50 product.
