*NEW for summer 2024 - the Parker Big Brown Boar* If you like a stiff brush, this Parker deluxe tortoise handle boar brush is the one for you. Boar is the stiffest of all the bristles used in shave brushes and therefore does an excellent job lifting the hairs and creating a fantastic lather. Boar shave brushes tend to perform even better over time as their hairs soften up with use and breaking in. This brush is excellent quality at an affordable price!

  • A great brush for exfoliating -- boar bristles are naturally stiff and will break in over time to become softer
  • A shaving brush is a must for a great shave with your favorite shave soap or cream
  • Comes with a free acrylic shaving brush stand for proper brush drying and storage, packaged in a gift box

Perfect brush for head shaving and exfoliating scalp

I have used this brush for head shaving and it is perfectly suited for this purpose. There is no smell or funk when new - my standard procedure for any new brush is to soak it in a bowl of soapy water overnight and then rinse it out and let it dry the next morning. The brush has a good backbone and is not as soft as silvertip badger brushes - but that is why I bought it in the first place.
Lathering in a shaving scuttle is very easy - just let it soak in warm water for a couple of minutes, then take it out and gently squeeze the bristles so excess water runs away - after which you can just swirl the soap or cream in a bowl or scuttle. It produces plenty of lather and I can get two complete head shaves with the lather generated the first time around - the scuttle keeps the lather warm in between shaves and that is an added bonus. I know with time this brush (as with all boar brushes) will get softer as the bristles split, but there was no shedding of hairs and the brown handle is very nice to look at. I would definitely recommend this brush
