This Merkur Classic 15C 3 Piece Safety Razor comes with a bar type called Open Comb which is a small bar that resembles a comb with teeth.
This comb pattern is considered best for heavy and coarse beards and more experienced shavers.
It is generally recommended that beginners start with a Safety Razor with a Closed Comb Bar which is a smooth bar without indentations and considered less aggressive for shaving.

Perfect aggression

I am really impressed with this razor. It's aggressive but not extremely. The only issue I have is the small handle but as with most things you have to adjust unless you have big hands.This is my second safety razor I've owned. The Merkur 15C and the Merkur 37C are well worth the price. I would give it five stars but as I said the handle is going to take some getting used to.

Wet Shave ++++++

Been wet shaving for decades. Great chrome on razor and non aggressive shave. Every day razor. Personally Gillette Silver Blue blades work great in this razor for me. Its in my safety razor rotation.

Meeker 15C

I bought this razor to shave out of a service truck in the field. I wear a full beard most of the time sometimes with whiskers as long as 1/2” and heavy beard. I have shaved with this razor and let me tell you it will cut every bit of my 1/2” heavy beard in one pass. It is fairly aggressive, rather, superbly efficient. While it will do this it gives one of the most comfortable shaves I have experienced. This is exactly what I wanted and will do exactly what I bought it to do. What a great razor. Thank you Geo and Shave Nation!!! Superb can’t say enough good!!!!

Solid little aggressive razor

This razor has changed my life (no exaggeration) I suffer from sensitive skin so I’m prone to razor ingrown hairs and razor bumps. With one pass and with a astra blade gets the job done I would highly recommend the 15c
