NEW! Feather Artist Club SR Razor

I have both the Feather Artist Club SR (curved handle) and SS style (straight handle) Japanese Razors. The SR feels a bit more "natural" to me (I'm an American) than the SS but I find that shaving around what style of beard I might have from time to time often requires both to feel comfortable while shaving different parts of my face (of course YMMV). Also, these are not quite the same as a regular straight razor. Begin shaving with either or both of the Artist Club razors as if you were a beginner shaver. Seriously, you'll do better if you pretty much ignore what you have learned about from shaving with a regular straight razor. It goes beyond the fact that a fresh shavette blade will often be sharper than you are used to. Once used to these razors you'll find the experience of shaving different and while requiring more attention the shave is more rewarding and more so than just having a baby smooth face. A bit more expensive? Yes, but just take your time and enjoy the ride! Nothing beats a hot towel shave except a hot towel shave using these razors.

I love my new Feather SR. I have the DX and while it will always be in my arsenal I do like the fact that the SR glides easier on the skin. The blade exposure is perfect. My DX has a slightly more aggressive exposure that works good for lineups and with the guarded blades. My SR has a much milder exposure and slightly fatter head shape that is perfect for the non guarded blades and the sandblasted finish makes the glide smoother on the skin. Thanks Geo for supplying me another Barber approved razor (Muhle Enthusiast was the other) you have a customer in me!

This razor is excellent paired with a professional blade! I get a close shave in one pass and less irritation than I do with a safety razor.
