Shaving brush

Chubby Review

I could have made some juvenile remark like " I got a chubby over the Chubby" but I'm too adult for that right?
Anyways, this replaced my poor lost 56 that disappeared recently in our move. Its got a great knot and the Best Badger is perfect combo of wonderful softness with just the backbone you need for your lather and to work up your skin. I have never felt the Super Badger but honestly, I can't see how it could be much better than the Best Badger bristles and the extra duckets. The handle on the Chubby 1 is ...chubbier (of course) than the 56 and lacks the length which made bowl lathering great with the 56. The Chubby 1 is usable in a shallow bowl but the short grip area means it excels in a face lathering application. Make no mistake though ,that with my steel lather bowl it is workable but definitely the Chubby 1 was designed as more of a face tool.

Simpsons Chubby 1 best badger

This brush has the usual dense Simpsons knot, and while not as soft as super badger it’s more than soft enough with just the right amount of stiffness to work well with the hard soaps I prefer. The size is spot on as I found my old Chubby 2 brush a little too big to comfortably control the lather around my face.
