Fatip il Grosso Chrome Open Comb Safety Razor

Razor was received in a package that was obviously a returned item as the cardboard the razor rested in was ripped very badly. Compounding my disappointment is that I purchased the razor for my cousin to celebrate his 70th birthday. I sent it along anyway with apologies as the item didn't seem to be defective in any way but it was not possible to return the item and receive a replacement in time for his birthday. I just didn't expect to receive the item in anything less than perfect condition and was both shocked and surprised it was shipped in such poor condition. 3 stars as the product seemed in good condition with unforgivable presentation.

This will take time to get use to, my first shave with a open comb I sliced into a mole, I couldn't believe how much a mole could bleed. After my shave I went and had dinner and a salad, I had to laugh, my wife thought I had salsa on my lip and handed me a napkin I told her I cut myself shaving. Geo she almost passed out from seeing the blood and there was almost a fight she wanted to take my new razor away. So the next day I gave it another try, I concentrated on the moles and was doing very well until I nicked my upper lip. Oh mio Signore. when I did that I lost my concentration and sliced into the same FRIGGIN mole and opened it up again, This time I stayed upstairs away from my wife until the bleeding stopped, if she would have found out I cut myself again she would have taken MY (not hers) Fatip il Grosso.

I am fairly new to safety razor shaving in general and I have no experience with open comb razors , I splurged and bought a beautiful Fatip il Grosso as my first real purchase, it is well balanced and for me it is aggressive. I love the weight it takes very little effort to pull it across my face, the handle length fits nicely in the palm of my hand i feel I have more control, and I can guide it to wherever I want it.

Even with the spillage of blood I had a great shave. Che Dio vi beneica

This blade is so precise. I started with a nice smooth green Astra blade. I was afraid from comments portraying the razor as aggressive. I now use anything. Oh yeah, it is a close shave so don't be sloppy. Not a single cut yet and one of my top favorite razors. I now have two Fatips and just love them.
