Henson AL13 Closed Comb Safety Razor

I've tried/experimented with many and this is my favorite. Beautiful design, high quality, and holds blades at an angle that works for me.

For reference, my "beard" stops growing once it reaches a denser stubble around three/four days. I went with the Medium head in tan, but Mild would surely work fine for me if I was shaving every day. The color feels a little more desaturated in person, though that's probably in my head and it's still the best looking part of my wet shaving collection- halfway between the copper color and a gunmetal gray I'd say.
Ridiculously easy for a beginner to use, and a great deal more comfortable to use than my first safety razor (different brand). Lighter than either of my cartridge razors are and noticeably more enjoyable during and after the shave. Recommend trying the 5-pack of RK blades it comes with before swiping that 100-pack though, works pretty well with the limited variety of blades I've tried.

Just picked up the Henson +++ (i.e., the aggressive model) from Shave Nation, and I'm already really enjoying it. Like many of you, I spent years shaving with cartridge razors, including having to shave daily during my stint in the Army.

There's only so many razor bumps and in-grown whiskers one should have to suffer in a lifetime.

I've been watching Geo's YouTube channel for awhile, and decided to jump in with both feet and give DE wet shaving a go, and I have not been disappointed.

I've learned quickly that pre- and post-shave care really matter with DE shaving. It's not an endeavor to embark upon with any degree of haste. Take your time, enjoy those nice creams, soaps, and balms! (Serious note: the only time I nicked myself was when I caught myself going too quickly, so slow down there, Speedy)

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy my first shave with the Henson was; finding that angle was extraordinarily easy, and I can't recommend this razor enough.

Bought the mild a while back I believe from shave nation can’t remember but it was mainly for my wife. The smoothness and the way it will only cut at the right angle makes it a perfect legs razor. Got interested and used it for my face and man it is a great shaver! So after just a little bit of time I toke the plunge and bought both the medium and aggressive versions. I am here to say I am not disappointed at all! All three shave different and have their purpose for different growths. I think I like the medium the most for normal shaves and the mild for the cleanup pass. The aggressive is not a r41 by any stretch of the imagination but gets the job done when you have more growth than usual. Shave nation of course got them to me super fast! Have many other razors and like them for their reasons but if I only had henson razors I would def be in good shape!

Henson was my first safety razor and I must say, i’ll never go back to cartridges again. Smoothest shave ever.
