Very happy with this razor

I have been using a Muhle R41 for the last year and decided to upgrade. The Konsul is a very different razor, and so far, I am very happy with it. It is a much more comfortable shave with a lot less blade feel than the R41. You know it's there, but it's not nearly as in your face (excuse the pun). Cranked up to 6 it is pretty aggressive, but not uncomfortable. I really like the build quality. When you pick it up, you know it is a nice razor. So far I am very happy with my purchase and am glad I have this one a shot.

Excellent Razor for the everyday or not every day.

I recently just started using a safety razor for the first time ever a few months ago with another brand. While I was satisfied with the cut, the razor seems to be made for someone who shaves every day or two, as a person who retired a few years ago I usually only shave a few times a week. I decided to purchase the Rex Konsul Slant and give it a try and I am sure glad I did. It is an excellent shaver in my opinion for someone who does not shave every day.

Great product, well made and shaves great! I am a daily shaver and so far really happy with the results. It is an investment, but it is well worth it!
As usual Shave Nation was all over the order - and delivered it in their usual fashion - well packaged, quick delivery. They spoil us all!

Very smooth shave, but some drag

This handle is unique in many ways, I have the Merkur 39C Slant, and the blade edge is equidistant from the safety bar over the width of the razor, but not so with the Konsul. The left edge is clearly curled a bit higher than the right, and that worried me...until I actually used it. I shaved with a Dorco ST300 in the Muhle Twist the previous day and had noticeable tugging and mild discomfort around the chin and jawline. But the same blade 36 hours later in the Konsul felt much sharper, with no such problems around the heavier areas. A striking difference! My only complaint is that this particular metal finish and design, and my face, seem to have great affection for each other as things get draggy compared to other razors. And yes, the blade mounting procedure is very fiddly compared to every other razor I've used, but it's still not a dealbreaker (they need to tweak this in future iterations, however).
