    Castle & Forbes has one of the richest scents of all the shave creams I have ever tried. The 1445 is my absolute favorite but I was interested in trying/smelling the others. The sample pack from Shave Nation is perfect! I wish there were other companies with large offerings that I could try out samples before I buy.

    I am giving the sample pack as a product a 5-star because it did exactly what I needed it to do. I have wanted to try Castle Forbes for a while, particularly 1445 because it sounded intriguing, but at around $100 for the cream and aftershave, I wanted to smell it first. With the sample pack I learned a few things:
    1) I do like Castle Forbes as a shaving cream
    2) I do NOT like 1445. Think walking into a grandmas bathroom in the 80’s with the toilet seat cover and pink Formica sinks with brass hardware. Very Floral/Soapy. It’s fresh, but extremely floral.
    3) I really liked the Lavender surprisingly. I figured I would not, but it has a masculine almost woody/cedar scent to it which I found interesting.
    4) sandalwood/cedarwood smells good, but could be overbearing to some around you.
    5) lime is awesome! I’d pay for a full set of that stuff.

    So the sample pack really helped, saved me some future heartburn, and found what I really do like from CF.

    Have wanted to try Castle Forbes for a long time and finally got a sampler pack from ShaveNation. Terrific stuff- worth every penny.

    Scents ranked....enjoyed the samples.

    Love having samples to find new scents/eliminate ones I don't like. Each sample has enough for about 2-3 shaves, using a 2x pea size glob. The lather was fine on all of them, but I do need to dial in my water ratio to optimize it.
    Ranked -
    1) 1445 - classic spicy/woodsy barber shop scent, really enjoyed this. Will purchase full size.
    2) Lavender - strong scent, high quality lavender, really soothing.
    3) Cedar/Sandalwood - very subtle, aroma didn't come out until really warming up the cream on my face. More cedar came through than sandalwood.
    4) Lime - reminded me of green snow cone syrup. Bright but artificial.
