I ordered theses blades as part of a larger order and 1 of the items on it was a Shave Nation SN246 Open Comb Razor. So to review these blades I figured I'd try the 1st one in the new razor as well
So this 1st shave test is not 100% perfect due to it having 2 variables. 1. A razor I have never used before and 2. a blade I have never used before.
Results were simply excellent! 5 stars because I can't give 6.
But how much credit goes to the blade and how much to the razor is unknown as of right now.
We have many factors to consider.
The best razor gives a so-so or poor shave with a poor blade. These blades are clearly NOT poor.
And a great blade in a poor razor head can be hard on you, leavings you looking like you lost that last fist fight ------ to a man wearing a lot of rings on his fingers.
Again the Shave nation SN246 is obviously NOT a poor razor. In fact it's far better then its price point seems to indicate. I am impressed.
This shave was as good and close any shave I have ever had using my straight razors. I have 44 years of experience using straight razors and started wet shaving at 16 years old. 54 years doing it. For me to say a safety razor is as good as a straight shave is not something I have said many times.
So in truth, this review may be as much about the SN246 as it is about the Elios blade.
Tomorrow or maybe the next day I am going to use the same blade in my Muhle R41 and after that I'll try one in my Parker semi-slant. After that I'll use one in my 1942 Gillette I was given by my dad (His WW2 razor) Last I give one a try in my Parker barn-door.
If I get super good shaves with all of my safety razors I have to conclude these blades are as good as you can buy-------- at any price.
Once I know if that's true of not I intend to try a few different blades in the SN246 and see how it stacks up as compared to my other 4 safety razors.
But safe to say you can't go far wrong with the SN246 and it seems from the 1st shave the Elios blades are extremely good too. 5 stars
