Alum block is made from naturally created and extracted alum and potassium.
Potassium has antiseptic, astringent properties to tone the skin and to close and tighten the pores after shaving.
Alum has hemostatic properties and stops bleeding instantly in the event of any minor nick or graze sustained during shaving.
Can also use an alum block as a natural deodorant or anti perspirant.

Edwin Jagger Alum block

This alum block gives great results. After a couple rinses of cold water, skin feels fresh and small nicks close up immediately. It costs more than other brands but I would buy it again since it doesn’t leave a feeling of buildup behind.
Shipping was fast too!

Hard to find

Good block

It's a good block, fits in the fingers well. I was expecting it to be a little larger, but that really isn't an issue. I didn't notice any stinging when using it the first time.
The only negative comment I have, and not enough to remove the 5-star rating, is the case. I thought it would be a little stiffer. It is a really thin plastic and not something I plan to keep the block in the long term. It opens on both ends. I'm looking for a clamshell to put it in now.
