The Parker Convertible Safety Razor comes with both open comb and closed comb base plates. The open comb gives a milder shave and the closed comb has greater blade exposure for a more aggressive shave. It's like getting two razors for the price of one! The handsome heavyweight handle is made from brass with electroplated brass finish and chrome accents.

Closed Comb Base Plate: Parker's famous 3-piece razor head delivers an excellent shave - both close and comfortable, ensuring a precise blade alignment. The closed comb head is the same as the one on all of the Parker three piece models - each part disassembles after screwing off the head from the handle to change the blade or the closed-open comb plates.

The Open Comb Head is engineered to provide an extremely smooth shave without being overly aggressive. The open comb design stretches the skin, delivering a very close shave. Recommended for both beginners and experienced wet shavers alike! As they say, "Two heads are better than one!"

Directions to change the blade and the head:

Hold the head of the razor and unscrew the entire head from the handle.
Separate the top cap from the base. Insert blade onto the top cap and select your base plate.
Insert the base plate over the screw of the cap, making sure that the larger indented middle circle is on the handle side.
Screw head back on the handle and enjoy a great shave.

Parker 69CR-Convertible Safety

Very nice heavy razor. Easy to grip, good knurling. First shave was using the closed comb bar and Parker blade that came with the razor. Got a fairly aggressive shave, which is what I was hoping for. I imagine the open comb bar would be very aggressive. I'll try it another day. Would recommend this razor.

Great Product...head a little aggressive for me.

The razor is great. It was a little too aggressive for me as a newbie, so I put on a Muhle head and it's perfect! The long knurled handle provides excellent grip and control!

Awesome Convertible DE Safety Razor!

I love this addition to my wet my shaving collection. I use the Open-Comb plate for shaving my bald head for a very smooth close shave with little to no skin irritation or nicks. The option to switch out bottom plates for either Closed-Comb or Open-Comb is very convenient. I use the closed-comb head for a less aggressive shave especially if I nicked myself using my straight razor. It's very affordable and has a decent sized knurled handle making it harder to drop with slippery wet hands. Go Parker Razors!!

Baby smooth shaved

Up until purchasing this razor I have only used Merkur adjustables. The weight of the razor and blade position is fantastic not overly aggressive. I have only used open comb so far, but I already love the comfort and control this razor gives. Two passes and it is a baby smooth shave.
