Simpsons 57 Brush Best

I am enjoying this brush. When I opened the box I was concerned about the backbone as the brush had a higher loft than I was expecting. However, this brush has plenty of backbone and the best badger knot is perfect for me. Soft enough to feel great yet just enough scritch for nice exfoliation. It is also gorgeous!
I bowl lather mostly with a large Simpson’s mug and the 57 is tall enough to not clang around when lathering.
As usual Shave Nation’s service was outstanding. Lightning fast shipping and a great on this very high end brush.

I used this brush once so far and it made a pretty good lather in the bowl using Stirling Soap Barbershop scent.. The brush lost a couple hairs on first use and I used my tweezers to pluck them out no prob. I hear thats normal so looking forward to its next rotation.
This brush performed well with plenty of backbone lathering my face which I did following Geos lathering technique, not following the directions which came with the brush that say don't swirl and only use gentle painting swipes. I mean come on right? I’ve got a Shave Nation razor key chain now and I don't do gentle swipes for anyone, even Alexander Simpson. Kidding aside, I’m happy with the brush and as usual am very happy with the excellent service from Shave Nation.

I’ve been using this brush in my rotation for about four months. This is my first best badger brush, my other badgers are pure badger. I love the soft tips! It makes a good lather and is not a lather hog. The size is big enough to do my whole head efficiently but small enough on my face around the mustache. It is a little light on the backbone so it’s not a great scrubber but it is a great painter. Overall I like the brush just fine.

The Simpsons 57 Brush in Best Badger is somewhat overlooked. Not sure why that is because it's got a terrific handle and nice balance. I use the 57 for face lathering with firm croaps and it has no problem creating wonderful lather for several passes. I have several Simpsons brushes including the Classic 2 and Commodore X2, and I have happily added the 57 to my lineup. It's a little bigger than the others, but still a medium sized brush. The feel is terrific overall, and I wold recommend it to anyone who wants a first-rate brush for their wet shaving routine.

Quality item. Whips up lather really well. Comfortable to use.
