Tabac After Shave Balm - Balsam Tube

Great performance. Was hesitant due to all the comments regarding the scent, but man oh man it grew on me. Already added the aftershave lotion and shower gel to the daily routine. A real clean, refreshing scent IMO.

I decided to try an aftershave balm and decided to go with a classic. I got it in the mail today and thought I'd try it out. My wife had gone out shopping, so I figured it was a perfect time to get an honest opinion. I shaved, used my Shave Nation Wide Stick Alum Block, then applied this balm. I used it sparingly - just a tiny dab on my fingertips. That was more than enough to cover my newly shaved face.

My first impression was that the scent was a bit floral. I didn't think it was awful, but it was certainly different than what I was expecting of a "classic barbershop scent". I guess I'd find out what the wife thought when she got back.

I found out alright. The very first thing she said was, "What is that awful smell? Can you smell that? Is that coming from YOU?"

Needless to say, I took another shower and spent extra care scrubbing my face to ensure all traces of it were gone.

The balm itself felt good and soothing on my skin after the shave. I received the product well packaged and very quickly. The 2 star review is in no way reflective of the quality of service provided by Shave Nation, but rather my opinion of the product.

I was starting to run low on my Tabac post-shave balm, so I ordered a second tube. Much like Nivea balm, Tabac doesn't leave a greasy residue on the hands afterward. It looks and feels more like a lotion, so it is quickly absorbed into the skin. The scent is typical Tabac, and smells manly.

This balm is ok. I am getting used to it. It does relieve the burn from an aggressive shave.
