Beautiful, vintage design is a replica of a 1906 design but has been completely updated.

It is generally recommended that beginners start with a Safety Razor with a Closed Comb Bar (featured on this razor) which is a smooth bar without indentations and considered less aggressive for shaving.

Sweet Razor

Just received so only have a couple shaves with it. Has a really nice feel. Nice weight and very maneuverable. Top notch service. Ordered Friday morning, arrived on Tuesday.

Merkur 42C

New to safety razors but this got me going no trouble. Shipped quickly to my door as well.

Nice razor

Love the look of this razor. This is a little more aggressive than the Merkur 23C, which I also purchased, but gives a close shave with little razor burn. I have sensitive skin and prefer the 23 for everyday or every other day shaves but this will go into my rotation for times when I've got 3 or 4 days of stubble, more aggressive razors seem to work better for me when I've got a few days' growth.

Merkur 42C-1904 DE Razor

I decided to switch from a cartridge razor to a DE razor for my travel kit and chose this one for its ease of storage. I find it to be a well made razor and have no problems with the grip of the handle. I have used the Merkur blades that it came with as well as Feather blades. I like both depending on my beard growth. The Merkur blade provides a mild but efficient shave and the Feather blades make quick work of heavier beard growth. Shave Nation provides quick and efficient service, I can highly recommend them.

Bought as a gift!

Truthfully, I won’t use this. I bought it as a gift for someone, but Merkur has a great reputation, so I’m gonna give it 5 stars. Of course, Shave Nation’s services are outstanding and worth another ten stars.
