When you can't have your DE

I am a frequently traveler for business and prefer to travel light and not check baggage. While TSA will allow me to carry on a DE safety razor handle, the DE blades are a no go. But you can carry on a cartridge razor handle and the cartridge blades.

Before the pandemic I picked up a Harry's multi-blade handle and cartridges solely for a travel back-up razor, but all those blades crammed into a single cartridge just is not my jam. I did not care for the shave and about the time I began looking for an alternative travel razor the pandemic struck, and I was grounded.

Now that we are emerging and I am traveling again, I resumed that search. I buy most of my shave supplies here so this is where I began the search. I found this handle and the non-Gilette (i.e., affordable) blades and dropped it in my cart.

I am back from two trips over the last two months which served as a break-in period with the razor. I much prefer the two-blade cartridge to the 5 or 6 or 7 blades now occupying the cartridge in a lot of other razors. My Harry's kit hit the trash can and this elegant metal handle and a package of the two bladed pivoting cartridges is now in my travel kit.

If you need a cartridge razor I recommend giving this one a go. I still prefer my DE razors, but when TSA forces me to leave them at home this is one will travel with me.
