Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap is a highly respected shaving soap made to a traditional formulation exclusive to Mitchell's. The soap is prepared with lanolin which is a key ingredient for a smooth slick lather. This soap comes with a wonderfully decorated ceramic soap dish and lid.

Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap was first produced in the early 1930's by Bradford chemist Fred Mitchell who realized that the natural lanolin content of wool fat, which kept the hands of local sheep shearers and wool sorters so exceptionally soft, could also be beneficial to delicate complexions and sensitive skin. A simple and natural product, Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap is still made according to Mr. Mitchell's original formula, based on a recipe from the turn of the century and incorporating lanolin from the wool fat as the key ingredient.

Nice Soap

Lathers easily, good lubrication, smooth shave, nice smell. Exactly what I was expecting, after googling shave soaps and MWF kept being mentioned as one of the favorite shaves soaps of many wet shavers.

Took some time to lather but works great!

I used a Simpson's T3 brush to lather the soap it works well enough but took some time to lather. I will make sure to use a boar brush next time. Very little irritation, good slickness from what I can tell. I only got back into wet shaving fairly recently so keep that in mind. I use a merica safety razor with a feather blade on its 3rd use in case anyone was curious.

Classic soap

First off, great ceramic bowl. This soap does take some time to lather up but once you get a solid lather, this provides an excellent shave. VERY slick and leaves your skin feeling great due to the addition of lanolin and animal fat. Just a warning to watch for allergies due to the lanolin and animal fat formula. It feels excellent on my skin. The scent is pretty much just a classic soap scent nothing amazing but it just has a classic feel. This will most likely be my go to for shave soap as it gave me one of my most memorable and best shaves as of late.
